BACK TO PRECEDING PAGE         In the framework of Workpackage 2.1, Department of Forest Protection was visited by prof. Algimantas Ziogas from Agricultural Academy and dr Artur Giedyminas from the Lithuanian Forest Research Institute in Kaunas, Lithuania. The main aims of the meeting were: discussion on problems connected with threats and protection of forest plantations against pests and prescription of range of scientific cooperation, formulation of topics in common research projects which could be financed by European Union, Moreover, invited scientists will participate in Scientific Meeting organized by the Polish Forest Society, the Forest Research Institute and the Regional Directorate of the State Forests in Torun, concern main activities and strategies linked to pest numbers reduction in Poland. During this meeting, prof. Ziogas and dr Giedyminas will present elaboration about similar subjects with respect to Lithuania.
