BACK TO PRECEDING PAGE On 17-22 October 2005, in the framework of task WP 1.3 Monitoring of forest fire, the consultation visit was carried out with specialists from Germany (dr Karl Preussner, Vattenfall Europa Mining Aktion Gesellschaft, Cobus) and Ukraine (Aleksander I. Shcorupa and Vladymir O. Čepovski from Ukrainian Scientific-Research Institute of Fire Protection in Ministry of Sytuacji Nadzwyczajnych Ukrainy) participation. The aim of the visit was building of scientific cooperation between Central and West European countries, exchange of knowledge concerns: forest ecosystems protection against fires, evaluation methods of forest fires consequences, forest fires looses prevention, and promotion of the Centre of Excellence knowledge referring to diagnostic methods after fire used in Poland. Stay schedule consists inter alia of: field trip to the Regional Directorate of the State Forests in Zielona Góra, become familiar with work of the Independent Forest Fire Prevention Laboratory, and visit in the County Headquarter of the State Fire Service in Zielona Góra.
