On 14-18 November 2005, in the framework of task WP 2.4 ‘Activities promoting genetic diversity conservation’, the study visit was carried out with researchers from Latvian Forestry Research Institute “Silava”: Arnis Gailis, Dace Auzenbaha, Âris Jansons, Mârtiòð Zeps, Guntis Matjuðonoks. The aim of the visit was building of scientific cooperation between both Institutes and presentation to scientists from Latvia, researches carried out by the Department of Forest Genetics and Tree Physiology regarding forest trees genetic diversity and methods of genetic diversity conservation used in Polish forestry.

Stay schedule consists inter alia of: visiting Department’s experimental plots in the Wyszków and the Brzeziny Forest District, and in the Experimental Forests in Rogów, and the seed stands in the Spała Forest District. Invited scientists presented paper during seminar which was held on November 14, 2005 in Sękocin-Las titled ‘Forest tree breeding in Latvia’.
